Nobody is suddenly empathizing and caring about Anne Frank for the first time because its possible she’s bi. Nobody. This is not something that’s happening at any worrying level. If you can show me otherwise, do so.
People are happy about Anne Frank being bisexual because it means representation. Everyone knows Anne Frank. Everyone has heard the name and at least one or more versions of her story. (Play, actual diary, etc.)
Do you know what that feels like? To be told that someone everyone knows was like you?
If you’re straight or even gay, probably not. You have representation. Now I’m not saying that gay representation is perfect or in excess, and I’m definitely not saying its equivalent to straight representation. But its there. You have role models. Both gay and straight people have people of their sexuality that are well known and famous. Some of them are even actually bisexual.
So you have no idea what it feels like when someone so well known is shown to be like you.
Stop shaming bisexuals for being happy that Anne Frank could’ve been bisexual.
the #banbossy thing really confused me because i thought Ban Bossy was someone’s name
